Building and Pest inspections are essential for your peace of mind when purchasing a property and can identify structural defects and termite infestations. This inspection is ideally completed before you sign a contract of sale. While you can sign a contract ‘subject to a building and pest inspection’, these provisions are often inadequate in that they only allow you to end the contract in the event a ‘major structural defect’.
